Joint documents are at the heart of proving a bona fide marriage for a Marriage Green Card (MGC). Without them, USCIS may suspect that the marriage was entered into solely for immigration purposes.

Why We Require Joint Proof

At Green Family Immigration Law, we don’t file MGC cases without, at minimum:

  1. Proof of Joint Residence:
    • Examples include a lease agreement or utility bills in both names.
  2. Proof of Joint Finances:
    • Examples include joint bank accounts, shared credit cards, or tax returns filed together.

These documents are the foundation of your case, showing that your lives are intertwined as a married couple.

What Happens Without Joint Evidence?

USCIS will scrutinize your case more closely, potentially issuing a Request for Evidence (RFE) or even denying the application. To avoid delays and complications, it’s critical to submit strong evidence from the start.

Our team can guide you in gathering and organizing the necessary documents to ensure your case is as strong as possible.
